Adding Black To Bring Cool To A Life
Shopping for black things for a cool life -- or at least, life as cool as we wished it could be -- means that one is interested in the solid side of life. Not only is black very slimming whenever it's worn as a complete ensemble such as shirt, pants, tie and jacket but it is also timeless and unceasingly stylish when used in a wide variety of applications.
Think for a minute how common a black sport watch is these days. Almost no man who knows anything about colors fails to have one or two different types. Keep in mind that anything between black and its opposite, white, is just a shade variation of one of those colors. And a watch -- whether digital or analog -- in black can look stylish even when worn with raggedy dungarees.
Truly, the two colors that manage to look good with everything are black and white. Think about how really slick a brand-new car looks when it's done up in black. Now, it might take a bit more work to keep something completely black clean but it might be worth it. Certainly some of the most famous movie cars in the world have been black. Think about it for a minute.
Even some of the greatest rock and rollers in the world -- especially those who came over during the 1960s 'British Invasion' -- looked at the color black as the best color for a couple of their favorite guitar types. Eric Clapton has played a black Fender Stratocaster for years, proving that a black electric guitar really stands out on stage. Clapton calls his guitar 'Blackie.'
Even motorcyclists understand that black is stylishly cool, and many of them sport a black helmet even if their bike is completely white or canary yellow. There's just something about the color black that goes far in making a statement that says a lot about a person. Black can at once be somewhat Goth yet also ultra cool in demeanor, to tell the truth.
Even our popular music has featured this color in song for decades. One of the most popular rock 'n roll songs of all time, for example, features the color in its title. 'Back in Black, ' by AC/DC, first hit the airwaves in 1980 but it's just as popular today and says just as much about the meaning of black now as it did over 29 years ago.
The bottom-line about black is that it pretty much goes with everything and it goes in such a way that the image it projects is quiet cool and extreme competence in many applications. Of course, one can't have all black in one's life or one risks looking a little too far 'out there, ' but a fair amount of black in the objects one owns can really say something.
