I worked at Fender over the years. The Twin is a workhorse and has a rating of 100watt rms. The difference with tube is that the sound is fatter, the bass is warmer and the sound can be quite raw if you turn the master volume tone and increase the gain.

The Frontman is still a great amp, cheaper in price but has more treble and highs due to its solid state circuitry and has a lot of power compared to most 100 watt amp. The upside is that you can get a dirtier sound compared to the twin. I sue solid-state amps, Twins, Marshalls, Ashdown, etc.. at the studio and the Fender amps have their own particular sound. They are bright, punchy and with a lot of volume. For the money, you made a good choice considering the fact that the twin is 3 to 4 times the price.

I like to point out one remark about the Frontman as not being a professional amp. It has nothing to do with professionalism. I taught on those amp and I play professionally. It depends on your skills and how good you are and how well you can make the amp sound; and if you sxck at guitar and you play a Twin, you won't sound any better. Trust me on this.

Nowadays, you have guys playing a 50 watt amp on stage and use a console or a microphone to mic the amp.
