Question about electric guitar bridges?
The low E string on my Esp Ltd. Ec 1000 breaks at the bridge every 1-4 weeks. I took it to a luthier and he told me that there was a burr in the bridge saddle, so i sanded it down with the sand paper he gave me, and it didn't help at all. I hate having to change the string every week, so I decided to replace the bridge. Now i'm wondering if I can just replace the saddle since it's just one of them. If I can, what kind of saddles do you recommend, and where can I buy them? It's a Tone Pros Tuneomatic bridge by the way.
Answer:
i dont know if they have these in tuneomatic form but graphite saddles are better because the strings glide over them and it reduces the friction. they have em in strat saddle for. if not get a brass one or a better material one. get a graphite nut to install to reduce string friction and i highly recommend this. take a pencil and get some lead in the bridge grooves. it works wonders. you just gotta scribble it in
